Text Box: Miss K. Ingalls will be representing Starks High School at the Cal-Cam pageant. The pageant will be held Saturday, October 11, 7 p.m., at the Sulphur. High Auditorium Starks High School wishes you luck! The I.D.F.Y students will be going on a field trip October 2. The bus will leave the school at 7:15 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. The students will travel to the Lake Charles Civic Center. Mr. R. Ashworth led the students in prayer. The students gathered to pray for our school and faculty. The first F.C.S meeting will be held Wednesday October 1, F.C.S is the Fellowship of Christian Students. If you want to participate meet in Mrs. Davis’s classroom during high school lunch. Text Box: Any student who has taken or is currently enrolled in a business class can join FBLA. FBLA is Future Business Leaders of America. If you plan on joining your membership fees need to be paid to Mrs. Kelley Butler by October 3. Mrs. Maydell Veronie is a new teacher at Starks High School. She teaches High School German I and II, Spanish, and English I. Mrs. Veronie also teaches middle school English. Text Box: The Governors Program for Abstinence is doing things a little different this year. Last year, to join GPA you had to be in high school. This year, however, you may also join this club if you are in the 7th and 8th grade. Mrs. Coleman would like to encourage all the 7th and 8th graders to join this club. GPA’s first club meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8. The meeting will take place in Mrs. Coleman’s room, which is in the middle Text Box: school building, during the high school lunch. The high school lunch starts at 11:44. GPA dues are five dollars and must be paid no later than October 8 to join the club. However, you are encouraged to bring it as soon as you possible can. All seniors should be at school by 8 a.m. to take their yearbook picture. The first G.P.A. meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8. Seventh through twelfth graders are invited to join.
