Influenza
We know that many of you may
have concerns about Type A influenza spreading at school and the
possibility of infecting others at home. Here is some information that
may be helpful to you and answer some of the questions you have.
- Superintendent Wayne
Savoy will be sending a general message via School Messenger®
telephone system to remind parents to check the
www.cpsb.org
website regularly for confirmed cases of Type A influenza listed by
school per day.
- Verbal updates will be
announced using School Messenger® as warranted via the Risk
Management Department.
- School protocol for
reporting confirmed cases of Type A influenza remains as follows:
- Parent brings note
of confirmation from doctor or healthcare provider.
- School faxes
confirmation to Risk Management Department.
- Posting on
www.cpsb.org
website done each work day @ 1:30 p.m. The numbers posted are
only for that day. To see the history of confirmations at each
school, click on the blue number to the right of the school.
- All reports of
confirmed cases are released only through the Superintendent’s
Office, Risk Management or Public Information Departments, not
the schools.
- School protocol for
maintaining healthy environment continues to include the following
- Custodians wipe down
door handles and knobs, clean restrooms including water faucets,
clean water fountains and wipe down desks in classrooms at least
2-3 times per day.
- Computer lab and
work stations wiped down daily.
- Students instructed
on proper hand washing and coughing procedures.
- Hand sanitizers are
provided.
- If your child is
running a fever, please keep them home until fever free for 24
